Nature is open to everyone, equally for women and men to discover something amazing inside themselves. It is no more or less dangerous for women to hike than men. Throw out all the fears, get in the zone. There are challenges and hard work ahead, what you find on the other side is a huge surprise, you feel invincible. We will dance in the rain and listen to our bodies and grow.

Hi, I’m Didier and I have spent over 15 years mentoring others within the disabilities, mental health, youth, and training sectors. In 2016 following the end of my marriage and career burn-out, I made the choice to hike a solo end-to-end of the Bibbulmun Track. Didier Walks came out of this journey I made towards my perfect self.
I have created this small group overnight hike just for women. “I have learned to embrace the roughness and see life in a new perspective” as Songbird a young female hiker once told me. I am not here to hike your hike. Hiking is a mental game and I create a safe space for you to open yourself up, spread your wings. I will show you how to create a hiking plan, to be prepared, what to bring, overcoming barriers and fears.

You will discover more about yourself on a two-day hike than two months at home. You have already done all the mental groundwork, you are just used to doing it for everyone else. It’s your turn.

I have created this hike for women who want to experience an overnight hike or wants to learn how to solo overnight hike.
We will begin our two-day 35km expedition at Driver Rd, south of Dwellingup. We will leave enough vehicles there and head north towards the Murray Campsite which sits on the bank of the beautiful Murray River.

This is where we will spend the night in our tents, build a campfire, take a dip in the Murray, reflect on the day and rest ready for our hike to Swamp Oak Campsite where our journey ends nearby and another opportunity for a swim in a secret hikers Murray pool.

- Length: 2 hiking days/1 night/campsite
- Distance: 35km
- Grade: 4
- Nights: Your own tent or equally adequate shelter. We will not be depending on huts for sleeping.

- Transport: Own transport to Nanga Mill Campground, near Dwellingup. If you need transport contact, Didier.

Day To Day
DAY 1 –
We meet at main Nanga Mill campground (Google Maps), near Dwellingup sign/toilet, where we will drive together a bit further and leave adequate cars in a private secret location near where we finish. We then jump in other cars and we drive to Driver Rd (30km) where we begin our hike.
- Hike 16km – Driver Rd to Murray Campsite
- Overnight – Murray Campsite
DAY 2 –
- Hike 19km – Murray Campsite to Swamp Oak Campsite
- We meet up with the cars and drive back to Driver Rd to pick up the cars there.

You will need
Backpack: 60 litres +
Sleeping bag -5 comfort, add a liner to increase warmth
Tent or suitable shelter
Comfortable walking boots or shoes
Basic first-aid kit
