4 Day Youth Hike – North Bannister to Dwellingup

This life-changing trek takes place on a 66km section of Western Australia’s world famous long distance Bibbulmun Track. It includes two climbs, this leads to the stunning 360 views from Boonering Hill and the Mt Wells former fire lookout now a Bibbulmun Hut. The forest heading into Chadoora Campsite is some of the most beautiful forests on the track.
We begin each day on the trail by walking the first hour in beautiful silence. Therefore encourages mindfulness and attract wildlife.
This 4-day youth hike is perfect for Duke Of Edinburgh Adventurous Journey Award requirements (see below). There are limited places for anyone who wishes to participate.

What equipment should I bring?
Didier Walks offers a genuine full hiking experience. You will need a backpack, sleeping bag, sleeping mat, tent A comfortable pair of walking boots or shoes. A headlamp and a basic first-aid kit. A full gear information list will be sent to you on booking. Limited gear is available for hire.
What will I eat?
You will bring your own meals, snacks and water. Each campsite has rainwater tanks. I will advise and give you food suggestions that are light to carry and give you plenty of energy.
Where will we camp?
We will be staying at Bibbulmun Track campsites. You will be sleeping in your own tent. Each campsite has an open hut that will be left for individual hikers. Campsites also have a drop toilet and tables for our use.
What if I have never hiked before?
Each day’s hiking is designed for the beginner. They are carefully planned, though with flexibility for breaks and adjustments for your comfort and safety. During our pre-hike meetup, you will be advised on preparing for yourself.
Will I need to transport myself to the trail-head and at the end?
We will all meet up on Saturday for 8.30am at the Three Ways Tavern, North Bannister. On completion of the hike on Tuesday afternoon, we will be transported by small bus charter from the Dwellingup Hotel at 3 pm to the Mandurah train station, where we will catch a train to Cockburn. Your parents will meet us at Knock Place, Jandakot. A carpark east of the train station. Our expected time of arrival will be approximately 5 pm. I have chosen to catch the train to keep costs less as Didier Walks keeps group sizes small.
What’s included in the price?
In the total cost, there is included along with the hike. A one-hour personal pre-hike meetup, a group pre-hike pack shakedown. One-on-one mentoring during the hike. Bus & train transport from Dwellingup to Cockburn. Didier your guide in 2016 completed the solo end to end hike of the 1000km Bibbulmun Track. He also brings 15 years of mentoring experience with young people.

Duke Of Edinburgh International Award requires a minimum of four peer participants to attend for the entire length of the level you are completing.
Total cost – $570.00
4% of every booking is donated to the Bibbulmun Track Foundation.
80% of all gear hire costs are donated back to the First Hike Project.
